Export Allowances
Every current plan includes a monthly allowance of exports rendered on Unlayer's servers. Every export counts once, whatever the format.
What counts
| Export | Counts toward the allowance |
|---|---|
| Cloud API exports: HTML, PDF, image and ZIP | Yes |
Builder exportImage, exportPdf and exportZip | Yes — they render on Unlayer's servers |
Builder exportHtml and exportPlainText | No — they run in the browser |
Exports from test projects count the same as exports from live projects.
The allowance belongs to the workspace: every project in the workspace draws from one monthly pool, which resets at the start of each monthly usage window.
Monthly allowances
| Plan | Exports per month |
|---|---|
| Launch | 5,000 |
| Scale | 25,000 |
| Optimize | 100,000 |
| Enterprise Basic | 150,000 |
| Enterprise | 250,000 |
Workspaces that need more than 250,000 exports per month can arrange a high-volume package with Unlayer. Older plans show their allowance in Console under Billing → Usage & add-ons.
When allowances apply
Allowances are enforced from the first billing period that starts on or after January 1, 2027: the first renewal on or after that date for monthly subscriptions, and the next renewal after it for annual subscriptions. Until then, exports are counted and shown in Console but never blocked. Allowance periods run in whole UTC days: each one counts exports from 00:00 UTC on its renewal date to the end of the day before the next renewal, so every export counts toward exactly one period. The first enforced period starts counting the day after its renewal date, so exports made before enforcement began never count toward it.
Tracking usage
Console shows the workspace's exports for the current window under Billing → Usage & add-ons. Once allowances apply to your subscription, the workspace owner also receives alerts at 75%, 90% and 100% of the allowance.
Successful export responses include:
| Header | Meaning |
|---|---|
X-Credits-Total | The workspace's allowance for the current window, including add-on packs |
X-Credits-Remaining | Exports left in the current window |
Reaching the allowance
Once the allowance is used, export requests return 429 with the error code CREDITS_EXHAUSTED until the next monthly window or until more capacity is added.
To add capacity on a plan with an allowance, buy Export Credits in Console under Billing → Usage & add-ons. Each $50 pack adds 10,000 exports per month, in any mix of formats.
